A young school-age child related the following to a
parent. It is an encouraging testimony of God’s divine protection (as
the incident could have resulted in a serious injury)…(Several weeks
ago)…this child was skating to school and as he crossed a
heavily-traveled avenue, this is what happened.... He said, "When I got
up the corner, there were no cars coming, so I started to cross (the
avenue). I got half-way across when I saw a car coming, but I knew they
had a stop sign, so I kept going.
"The car didn't stop (at the sign), however, and it hit me. I struck
the fender and rolled off toward the curb. I got up, but felt a bit
dazed. It seemed I was dreaming, but then I realized I got hit by the
car.
"The lady (who was driving) got out to see if I was okay. I told her
I was fine, but she followed me for about half a block and asked me
again (to make sure I was okay). I told her again that I was fine, then
she left. I am very thankful that I wasn't hurt or injured at all. There
were no bruises anywhere to be found on me. I (truly) thank God for
protecting me.

"PRAISE THE LORD, we were protected from witnessing
(or being part of) a shooting [in our neighborhood]. My younger sister
had some friends over to play games. We ordered pizza later that
evening and decided to pick it up as the food was ready in 15 - 20
minutes. Delivery would have taken over an hour. I took four of
the young friends with me to pick it up. We were away from the
home for about 15 minutes. "Upon returning, we could see several
police cars parked near the end of our street. Many more police
cars were speeding from several directions; (and even a police
helicopter was flying overhead, indicating a serious incident).
"As we walked closer to our corner, our neighbor stopped us and said
there was a shooting; (she advised us not to go that way). She
then realized we were carrying pizza boxes, so she walked with us (and
told us not to look at the crime scene). She made sure we went
directly to our house and inside.
"I had prayed for our protection, as I was deciding whether to take
the four girls with me, because it was dark [around 9:15 pm], and they
are quite young. And I prayed again for our protection (as we walked up
the hill away from our street). Thanks to the Lord, we were protected
from any involvement whatever (as the shooting happened during the time
we were picking up the food).

(Brief praise note) "I recently gave $20
dollars to the poor, and I also helped some people repair a few things.
Each time, I claimed my promised blessing. All glory to God, I was
blessed with a nice increase in my wages."

(A miraculous work of healing): "One day I had a slight headache, but
didn’t think much of it, and blamed it on a ‘lack of sleep’ (from the
previous night). The day continued and so did the headache. When I got
home (I had been out all day), I tried to rest but the pain just got
worse. I gave up trying to sleep and the headache continued to get
worse.
"[Thanks to the Lord] I slept well that night, but when I awoke I
still had pains. I wanted to go back to bed and skip the morning
service, but by then I realized that the headache was from the devil
(not lack of sleep), so I prayed, and got ready for attending church (as
I normally would have). The devil continued to hold on (even through the
service), and I was still oppressed when it was time for the afternoon
meeting. Satan suggested that I stay home and saying ‘You acted out your
faith this morning and you weren’t delivered, why try again?’ I got
ready [anyway] and went to church (even though the devil continued to
oppress). By the end of the service there was very little improvement.
"I went out for dinner that evening (as planned) even though the
devil was still fighting. As the evening progressed, I would get some
relief and the pain would return. The pain brought me to tears and I
asked another member to pray with me. This member prayed aloud, and when
they had finished (and I lifted my head), all of the pain was instantly
gone! PRAISE GOD!

(From a ‘Young, learning family’)… "In the
past few months, my family and I have been through some rough times. The
devil can paint some dark pictures (when oppressed physically, mentally,
and spiritually).
"Thanks to the Lord, (as we have come through and to the end of all
this), we have realized that many things needed to be corrected or made
right. For one, I know that I have not been content with what God has
already given me (or where He has placed me).
"I know that I have resented many things and people in my life, and
even though I have repented of the resentment (many times and have asked
the Lord’s forgiveness), Satan constantly came back with resentment
(although I tried hard not to). Now I realize that I can only do things
with help from the Holy Spirit.
"I know that I have coveted what others have, (and I envied them). I
have asked forgiveness for this. I know that God is merciful [and
faithful to forgive].
"I realize that the first step is to admit there is a problem,
and then God will take care of the rest (as I place that request in His
hands to stay).
"I now pray for the Holy Spirit to live in my heart (and every one of
my family). I thank and praise the Lord for everything He has already
done for us, and I appreciate everyone’s prayers."

An encouraging note of protection from a
construction worker. "While filling a tire on a machine at work, it
seemed to be taking a long time and filling very slowly.
Something didn't seem right, so I got another air pressure gauge (to
make sure it was filling properly). The tire is supposed to have 50 psi
in it...but it had over 90psi !! The first gauge was defective (and
wasn't giving an accurate reading). I thanked God immediately for
keeping the tire from blowing up in my face. (This could very
easily have caused serious harm or injury) *** |

(Lost article; found): "I would like to
praise the Lord for finding my misplaced keys. I thought I had lost them
when I was out. [Nevertheless] I looked around the house and in the van.
When I didn't find them, I considered turning the house and van upside
down, but instead, I knelt and prayed, "Lord, You know where they
are. And You know how much I need them. Please show me where they are in
Your time, and help me be patient until You do." I left it in His
hands.
About a month later, I was going out and I thought, I should just
stop and get another set of keys made. But I didn't because I knew in my
heart that God wasn't going to let me down. The next day, my younger
brother came up to me and said, "Close your eyes and hold out your
hand." He placed the keys in my hand. He had found them down inside
the sofa. Praise the Lord!

(Protection): The child (of a family)
was struck by a vehicle while on a bicycle (recently), but by the mercy
of God, were not seriously injured. They sustained multiple scrapes,
bruises, and cuts, but he was able to walk home. The child is very
thankful that there were no broken bones resulting. The impact threw
them up onto the hood of the vehicle and smashing the windshield (which
carried them 20 to 25 feet). Only by the grace of God was the child able
to walk home, and not be pursued by police or others. They rested that
night and have been able to get around quite normally since. The family
(and all concerned), give God all the glory and praise for the child’s
protection from a much more serious accident, and they are all agreeing
for a quick recovery from the cuts, abrasions, and sprained wrist.

A member gives an encouraging testimony of God’s
protection and answer to prayer… #1 While helping a loved one
relocate, they walked passed a live and exposed electrical wire (several
times) right outside the home on a patio area. No one was aware that the
wire was still connected at the box until this member accidentally
stepped on (and bent over) the cable (which caused the wires to touch
and spark).
They give God all the glory for protecting them from a serious
electrical shock and also protecting the many children who were right
there at the time.
#2 One of their children tripped on a stair carpet and fell down a
flight of stairs, which resulted in a bruise on their head. The child
wouldn’t allow anyone to touch the spot, but other than that, they
seemed okay. This is the first time they ever fell like that, so it was
unusual, but God protected the child from any serious injury.
#3 This member said that their youngest child received an answer to
their prayer several times. During a recent outing, this child said, ‘We
have to pray that it doesn’t rain,’ and it didn’t (directly in answer to
that prayer and just when they needed it to be clear).
Some people around heard the child say, ‘We have to pray that it
won’t rain,’ and thus witnessing that God hears and answers the prayer
of a child (when it is offered in faith).

Our baby managed to get the front door open
and to go out onto the front porch (without anyone knowing it). Thank
the Lord, we spotted her standing on the porch. We are thankful that the
Lord didn't allow her to go down the steps and out into traffic.
God also protected her from choking when she put a small toy in her
mouth. The Lord has given us many wonderful days in the weather (during
planned activities and spending the day outside at several gatherings).
To God be all the praise as He gave us pleasant conditions and kept the
rain from our area many times. He is also working with our family in
many other ways as well. Praise Him, for He is always there for us!
(Yours in Christ)

"I would like to ask everyone’s forgiveness for all the
things I may have said or done over the years. I have made many mistakes
in my life, and I pray that God will have mercy on me, a sinner.
[quoting from Luke 18:13]
I have often asked Jesus to forgive me, but then I commit the same
sin again. I have given in to temptation from the devil too easily (even
though I don’t want to). I am guilty of ‘throwing stones’ and not saying
prayers for others. I’ve often thought [or said to someone], ‘I can’t
believe they could do that (or be like that).’ Then I find myself
doing the very same things (or even worse).
I can’t thank God enough for all the blessings He has given me, as
well as His divine protection and good health (which I often take for
granted). I know what is the right thing to do, but too often I get my
priorities mixed up (which, I know, is not pleasing to God).
With the help of the Holy Spirit, I know (and pray) that I will stay
on the narrow road (of faith in Christ) and that I will be a shining
light to those around me. ‘Thank You, Jesus, for dying for me and for
showing me the right of life. I know that it [I] may not look bad from
an outside appearance, but God sees and judges the heart, so I ask Him
to give me a clean and pure heart.
‘Thank You, Jesus, my Savior.’ (In Christian love)

"Just a short note to say that God has
delivered me many times, and is helping me live day-by-day (trust in His
strength)." •••
(Just a note to tell of a direct answer to prayer): "We were in need
of some articles for the home, and would soon be shopping for these
items. Before we had the opportunity to do any looking, however, a
member offered these articles to us (after inquiring if there was a
‘need’). This was a direct answer to prayer, as this was no little
expense, and even though we had adequate finances, the money saved can
well be used in other areas. And the new (offered) articles are above
and beyond what we would have purchased. To God be the glory!
•••
"We would like to thank the Lord for His mercy and kindness shown to
us. He protected one of our children from harm (when they accidentally
broke a pane of glass in a door). It was revealed right away, why this
happened! I had contemplated the purchase of some items in a way that (I
had been shown some time ago) would not be the best way to make such a
purchase.
I chose to give God the benefit of any doubt in this matter, and yet
the devil tempted me to give in and to purchase these items in a
questionable way. In doing so it would also provide a night out and some
socializing with friends. As soon as I made the decision to do this
(although I had second thoughts), the child knocked the glass out of the
door. The Lord showed me right then, that I should not turn back to
doing things in a way that I had been convicted of previously.

Note of thanks to the members and praise to God
concerning moving to a new house…
Dear Members: About two months ago, we found out we had to move
because our house had been sold. Immediately Satan filled us with
anxious feelings that we had to move, worrying that we wouldn't find a
new suitable home to rent in time (and would have to settle for
something we really didn't want). After going to the Lord in fervent
prayer, we all tried to go about everything as we always had without
worrying about what would happen tomorrow.
We began receiving phone calls from fellow members about houses they
had seen for rent. Sometimes we would get our hopes high after seeing
the home from the outside, but these hopes didn't linger long when we
discovered the astronomical prices they wanted for rent, and knew we
couldn't afford it.
After again going before the Lord in prayer, we came to realize that
God would allow everything to work out, if we just put our trust in Him
and Him alone. A week away from the time we had to be out of our house,
we looked at a nice-sized house and really liked it. There were a few
minor things that needed fixed or replaced, but the owner gladly took
care of that for us.
Soon after these changes were made, many members gladly offered their
help in doing whatever was needed. We were overwhelmed with the help in
cleaning the new house, painting it, and installing new carpet. When
moving day came, many members came unexpected to help pack up a few
remaining things, and to help move everything into trucks. We were able
to move in only about 4 hours. At the new house, members helped put
dishes away, reassemble the beds and dressers, and even went as far as
to make the beds and put clothing away.
The house is great and accommodates our family wonderfully. The rooms
are larger, it has front and back porches, a fenced-in back yard (which
was a great blessing since our youngest likes to run around), and even a
pool. This could only come from the Lord Himself. We ask that He lead
and guide us so that we can live for Him, and let our actions be a
witness to the neighbors. We would like to thank everyone from the
bottom of our hearts for all their time and effort put towards helping
us move.
