#1453 1114 10A When we meet with a temptation, trial, test, or financial need—on whom, or on what, we are depending for the answer, the solution, the healing, or the money, is solid evidence of where our faith has been placed. Psalm 91:2 ”I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.’" A spiritual war rages as our enemy, the devil, works incessantly to cast doubt by suggesting such things as—can you really trust God; will He really do things for you. There is a living God in whom everyone must trust. God created the universe and He forbids us to trust in any Exodus 34:14 “other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.” If we are anxious or troubled, Jesus reminds us to John 14:1 "Trust in God; trust also in me.” He had said John 10:30 ”I and my Father are one,” and that all things are possible, if we have faith to believe Genesis 18:14; Matthew 19:26. Jeremiah 32:17 ”Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee.” Everyone carries the words around: In God We Trust, but it has come to be a motto on a coin we spend, rather than a life of believing faith on a God we trust. If God is the One on whom anyone can trust, then we must be inspired in faith to believe Him and trust Him—for physical healing without medication; for daily needs without a trust fund; for divine protection without human devices; for spiritual light by His Spirit; and for eternal life through faith in the Blood shed for us. Jesus warned: Do not be deceived, because of the possibility of being deceived. If Satan could convince people to believe that God has changed and will not do things for them today, then he could rob them of God’s blessings. Satan’s major mission is to have us accept his lie—that those things God did in the Bible, will not be done for us today. The devil’s one purpose is to convince the world that God is no longer the One in whom you can trust in this life. Satan has convinced the large majority of the Christian world, that God will not heal them through faith alone; He will not protect them unless a substitute is used; He will not provide their needs unless some cash reserves are kept; He will not avenge wrongs unless legal action is taken; and that God will not do anything else that relates to this life. Testimonies and praise notes heard over many years give ample evidence that God heals by trusting Him alone; gives financial blessings through faith in His Word; protects us by faith in His promises; and that He delivers anyone who is willing to trust Him in believing faith. These testimonies prove that God has not changed and anyone today can receive the same manifestation of divine power if they would trust Him with the same faith. Since everyone has the opportunity of knowing God’s Truth from the Bible; the privilege of trusting the same God; and acting in faith on the same Blood of Christ, then anyone has can receive the same blessings and answers to prayer God wants to give everyone who loves and trusts Him. All physical oppression, financial lack, insulting remarks, or disturbances of peace, are a test of faith to show where our faith has been placed. Satan has deceived millions of professing Christians by convincing them that God does not heal; does not provide finances; will not control attitudes; does not protect from harm, and does not correct injustices—without some human plan or power. If physically oppressed, they seek help from drugs or prescriptions. Millions of ads today are about health care, medication, surgery, or hospitals. When real life issues are met, where we put our faith and trust will be very evident. Our currency may read In God we trust, but the living God of the Bible is not trusted for much of anything by those in the world. The majority of professing Christians seek help from medication, bank loans, firearms, law enforcement agencies, or some other human source of help, when a serious issue is met. Where their heart is, and on whom they trust, is all too evident. Most professing Christians take legal action against anyone who offends them. The huge number of lawyers and insurance claims prove that. If a financial need is met, they obtain money by human plans; take a cash loan from a bank; buy things on credit Romans 13:8, or tell someone of their needs Philippians 4:6, instead of going to God in prayer and trusting Him in faith to give the answer. Far too many professing Christian parents use physical force to discipline children, instead of trusting God in faith to make them obedient, and then explaining right ways to them. Every test of faith will prove whether the God in whom we trust is just a motto on a coin, or a living God in whom we really do trust. What God did for believers in the Bible, He would have to do today, if we will meet the same conditions, and place the same faith in the Blood of Christ, because God cannot change and Jesus remains the same Malachi 3:6; James 1:17. The entire message of the Bible, and God’s plan from the very beginning, is that we place our trust and our faith in Him alone—to provide, to protect, to heal, to enlighten, and to save. We, however, have to choose to trust Him in believing faith. Jesus came so we could know God. He went to the cross and suffered for six agonizing hours, so atonement for sins would be made for sinners. Jesus died to destroy Satan’s power, and rose to life to give victory over the devil—by our faith in that sacrifice. It is our privilege to trust on the Ephesians 1:19 “exceeding greatness” of God’s power to those who believe. If the healing, protection, deliverance, and blessings God wants to give us, are not being received, it is not His fault. Jesus died on the cross for the sins of the world, but not many receive the benefits of that Atonement, because they do not, and will not trust God, in faith for those things. Jesus asked His Father to spare Him from the cross, but all Scripture had to be fulfilled, for the power of Satan to be broken. If a person believes that God created the universe with His Word, then they should also believe that God has the power to heal, deliver, protect, provide, and save by that same Word—Malachi 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not.” Jesus said “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed… Nothing will be impossible for you" Matthew 17:20. The resurrection of Christ gives access to the divine power of God. The God in whom we trust, is the God in whom everyone should trust. 2 Chronicles 16:9 ”For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.” The victories, healing, and miracles God did in the Bible—and the circumstances under which He did them—can happen today, if the same trust is truly on Him—not on something else. The resurrection power of God conquered sin, self, and Satan for believers in Christ. No one can explain the resurrection, and no one could stop God from bringing His Son back to life in the face of the Romans, the unbelieving Jews, and the devil himself. If God could defeat death, by raising His Son to life—who now has all power and authority in heaven and on earth Matthew 28:18, then God can do great things for us today. Satan wants us to doubt the power of God, because he knows that unbelief hinders God’s power. 1 John 5:14-15 ”This is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” The Blood of Christ means everything to those who trust God, because atonement is the foundation of all faith. Anything that could hinder God’s power was removed at the cross. God’s grace provides a life-time offering of canceled sin, if we will repent, believe God in faith, and trust Him to cleanse our heart of rebellion. Jesus is “the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29. Our faith in that perfect sacrifice, guarantees a perfect deliverance. We are to “Be reconciled to God” 2 Corinthians 5:20-21, because God is our friend who wants to do great things for us—if we will trust Him in faith. “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” Christ was sinless, and for our sake, He took our sin on Himself, so that we could have His righteousness. If we go to God with a sincere and repentant heart, we go to Him with all of our sins out of the way. God has great blessings for those who will trust Him in faith. If a problem is encountered, or a need is met, we ask: who can I depend on, and who has always been willing to help—then we ask that person. We are to ask God in prayer and present our need to Him in faith Philippians 4:6. God has nothing against us, because Jesus removed every obstacle. We can “have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus” Hebrews 10:19, and we can be bold in asking God for what He has promised. When Jesus gave up His Spirit, every hindrance to God’s power, was out of the way—so “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water” Hebrews 10:22. It is our privilege to ask God in prayer, and it is God’s promise to give us the answer to that prayer. If we will choose to believe and trust God in faith, we can be sure He will listen and respond. Every promise of God is “Yes” 2 Corinthians 1:20, because of what His Son was willing to do.
