True & False Religions There are millions of religious organizations in the world, and every one claims to be right or teach the true way to heaven. Jesus said, however, that there would be very few true believers when He returned. Bible-believing Christians would be the minority, compared to the millions who only profess, but do not practice, God’s Word. We know that all religions are not right, and that very few would know or teach the truth of God’s Word. The Bible then is the only source of truth that God wants us to know and live. Any religious organization that claims to give the true gospel would have to teach the full truth from God’s Word. True religion will trust God for everything in this present life, but false religions depend on human plans and power for things in this life. That is the great dividing line between true and false religious teaching. Bible
believers depended on God alone for everything—their spiritual life,
physical healing, control of their home, financial needs, divine
protection, and everything else concerning life. A person could follow
that plan only if they have surrendered their will to God, and We begin life filled to overflowing with human trust for everything in this life. We all grow up with self-control becoming more entrenched and dominant. When we become an adult, self has had control for a long time, so there is much spiritual work for God to deliver us from unbelief. When the Holy Spirit is in control, we are able to trust God. We make the choice to believe, God then begins to teach us how to trust Him. He is the only One who can do that spiritual work. His Spirit inspires faith in us to trust Him for healing, for peace in the home, for money each day, for protection from harm, to make right decisions, and for everything else. A clear prophecy says Ezekiel 36:25, "Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols.” Since we were born full of idolatry and human trust on anything but God, then we need to be cleansed from that sin nature which will not trust God for anything. The Holy Spirit enables us to trust God in believing faith. God will teach us, just as quickly as we are willing to have self taken out of our heart, and the Holy Spirit installed in its place. It is like over-writing a corrupted computer file with a non-corrupted one that operates correctly. When idols are taken out of the way, we are released from the power that wants to trust only in human power, plans, or practices. God wants us to trust Him, because only by a believing faith in Him, is He able to give us our inheritance in Christ—which includes all needs in this life, and the final reward of eternal life. It is a great opportunity to have God willing to teach us, what we need to know, so that we can receive such great blessings. He is the greatest Teacher and every lesson is free. God created the universe and all life, so He is well qualified to teach every spiritual lesson needed to be a true child of His. Being born with a rebellious heart and full of idolatry or human trust on what Satan has devised, puts us at a spiritual disadvantage. With an idolatrous spirit of self within, God cannot teach us how to trust Him. We need that promise Ezekiel 36:25 “from all your idols, will I cleanse you.” When we are free from idolatry, God’s Spirit is able to cleanse our heart from sin and take control of our decisions. We are then in a position to trust God for everything. Just as quickly as we can accept that, God will teach us how to trust Him in faith. It will be natural to trust God, because we have been released from the rebellious nature that had wanted to trust only in something else. The sin nature is out of our heart and the divine nature is in its place. God wants us to trust Him for everything in faith, because it is only by faith that He can give us the divine promise—provided through believing faith on the atonement sacrifice of His Son. That promise is “Yes” through faith in Christ 2 Corinthians 1:20, and includes everything we could need or want in this life to be happy, while we wait for the blessed hope. Being prepared for eternal life means we have learned to trust God in this life. He is the greatest of Instructors and every lesson is without cost. He created everything and everyone, so He knows how to make us what we should be. His plan is for us to be happy by trusting Him in this life, and to be ready for His kingdom in the next by that same believing faith when His Son returns. The only place where the sin nature can die in us, and the divine nature live in its place, is right here in this life; and the only time to learn lessons of faith is right now—by a choice to believe. Hebrews 3:7-9 ”As the Holy Spirit says: ‘Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the desert, where your fathers tested and tried me and for forty years saw what I did.” We should not test God but we should trust God for everything. When God was trying to teach the Israelites in the desert, they hardened their hearts, rebelled, and tested His patience. Hebrews 3:10-11 That is why I was angry with that generation, and I said, ‘Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways.’ So I declared on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never enter my rest.’” The dividing line between true and false religions—between a religion controlled by Satan and a religion controlled by God, hinges on whom they believe and trust in faith. True religious teaching instructs the listener to learn from God, through the power of His Spirit, how to trust Him and how to depend on Him in faith for everything. Hebrews 3:12 “See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful [evil], unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.” Those who are under Satan’s control, even though wearing religious clothing, are those trusting in human plans, power, or policies for things in this present life. It is just a question of whom we are trusting on, that determines whether we are following a true or a false religion. God’s plan of deliverance always begins with the shedding of blood—beginning with Abel’s lamb of atonement Genesis 4, and ending with the sacrifice of the Lamb of God John 1:29. His blood would cancel the guilt and sin of the entire world, and would place God, with all He can do for us, on our side—to deliver us, heal us, protect our life, provide what we need, and be at our service for anything. Romans 8:31-32 “If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?” There are two conditions that make the atonement effective. First is to put aside every human plan or power and to depend on the power of the living God alone. Second is to accept the promises of God’s Word as sufficient evidence that our prayer is answered and the deliverance received. It is the same two conditions in human transactions—we go to the one who has what we need, and we believe their word when obtaining it from them. The Word of God is the plan for receiving the deliverance, the Holy Spirit is the power to accomplish the results, and the Blood of Christ is the value paid for victory. There are a huge number of counterfeit religions in the world. Satan’s only desire is to cause confusion, deceive people, and lead multitudes to eternal destruction by having them believe his lies, and accepting his substitutes. Many claim to believe the Bible and multitudes profess faith in Christ, but in reality they have shut God out, and they control their whole life by human plans or power. They do not know God, nor His plan for victory by faith in Him, so they do not trust Him—for things concerning the home, for healing, for protection, for injustices, or for anything else God promises to do or provide.
Some false religions teach that Saturday is
the Sabbath, but Saturday is not mentioned in the entire Bible. Our
present calendar did not even exist then. God’s plan is to work six
days and rest on the following—so if anyone does that, they are obeying
both the letter and the The devil has spiritually blinded multitudes to believe his lies and reject God’s Truth. The devil works continuously to deceive by any means possible—using 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12 ”every kind of wicked deception for those who are on the way to perdition because they did not welcome into their hearts the love of the truth, so that they might be saved. “And for this reason God sends them a misleading influence [strong delusion] that they may believe the lie; in order that all may come under judgement [condemned] who have refused to believe the truth and have taken pleasure in unrighteousness.” There are many false religions today, but only one true faith in God that truly believes Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever Hebrews 13:8. God wants us to have His kingdom, so He wants us to trust Him in believing faith in this present life. Hebrews 3:14 ”We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first.” † ††
