Thy Will Be Done

Our prayer every day is Matthew 6:10 ”Thy kingdom come.  Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.”  Prophecies tell about the Millennial kingdom of Jesus.  Zechariah 14:9 ”And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.”  There will be only one kingdom; one rightful King; and one nation of redeemed people.

God created an ideal place and a perfect environment in which to live in peace and serenity right from the beginning.  The power to choose was given from the start, and everyone still must make a choice to follow God’s plan by faith, or go their own way like the world.

Daniel interpreted Nebuchadnezzar’s dream about a golden image, and a huge stone rolling down, striking the image at its feet, and grinding everything to dust.  This stone became a great mountain which filled the whole earth.  Jesus Christ is to rule supreme—making this earth a perfect world in which to live.

Returning to the paradise environment Adam was given means returning to a position of total dependence on God for everything.  It means trusting in faith on the Atonement sacrifice of Jesus for good health; for divine healing; for food everyday; for avenging injustices; for teaching children; for employment issues; and for every other aspect of life.

When Adam fell into sin, the ground was cursed—the devil got possession of it.  Unbelievers think God made the herbs from which to make medicine, but herbs taken for medicine grew after the ground was cursed.  Satan now caused thorns, weeds, and poisonous plants to grow to torment people, and to make it difficult to raise good vegetation for food.

These poisonous weeds will not exist during the Millennial reign of Christ—briers and thorns will be absent, so the ground will bring forth nutritious grains and delicious fruits.  Genesis 1:29 “God said, ‘See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food.”’

God is going to multiply and increase crop yields, instead of blight and diminishing supplies Ezekiel 36:29-30 “I will call for the grain and make it plentiful and will not bring famine upon you.  I will increase the fruit of the trees and the crops of the field, so that you will no longer suffer disgrace among the nations because of famine.”

Other prophecies say Isaiah 55:13 ”Instead of the thorn bush will grow the pine tree, and instead of briers the myrtle will grow.  This will be for the LORD’s renown, for an everlasting sign, which will not be destroyed."  Only good vegetation that is beneficial to humans will be permitted to grow—all evil is taken away.

There will be a huge change in the animal kingdom, with ferocious animals not being what they are today.  They are fierce and carnivorous in their fallen state, but originally they were omnivores that ate the vegetation in Eden.

Isaiah 11:6-8 ”The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them.  The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox.  The infant will play near the hole of the cobra, and the young child put his hand into the viper’s nest.”

There will be worship at Jerusalem during the Millennial Kingdom.  The kind of sacrifices, the size of the temple, and everything else is detailed.  The old temple sacrifices pointed to the coming of Christ as the Lamb of God, but these sacrifices are offered as a memorial of Jesus’ sacrifice at Calvary—continually reminding people of His great work on the Cross.  This Gospel Age is only a taste of the coming kingdom of Christ.

These on-going sacrifices are a continual reminder that Jesus died to purchase salvation, and the glorious reign of Christ on earth is the result of that work on the Cross—that the shed Blood of Jesus Christ gives freedom and deliverance from Satan and all his evil works.  The apostle said that the gospel Romans 1:16 “is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.”  When we truly have Jesus in our heart, a paradise kingdom can be enjoyed in our life.

Jesus promised to return and take possession of the earth—which will include perfect health and peace as we reign with Him.  We are to be perfectly happy and contented as Adam and Eve originally were—because Jesus shed His Blood for us.

Many prophecies speak of this coming kingdom.  Ezekiel 37:21 ”This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone.  I will gather them from all around and bring them back into their own land.”  This returning of the Jews to Israel began in earnest in May of 1948.

The Bible describes the New Temple—Ezekiel 40:2 ”In visions of God he took me to the land of Israel and set me on a very high mountain, on whose south side were some buildings that looked like a city.”  Ezekiel 47:12 ”Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river.  Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail.  Every month they will bear, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them.  Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing."

Satan is the author of sickness; and since he is banished from this Millennial Kingdom, there will be no disease.  This tree with leaves for healing, is simply the source of life and health as the tree of life in the Garden of Eden.  Revelation 22:1-2 “He showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.  In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month.  The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.”

The true believer can only imagine how wonderful it will all be.  Revelation 21:2-3 “I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.  And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.”

This new city would reach from Philadelphia to Chicago according to the dimensions.  Revelation 21:14-16 “Now the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.  And he who talked with me had a gold reed to measure the city, its gates, and its wall.  The city is laid out as a square.”

Jesus spoke of this city being built.  John 14:1-4 "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.  In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you.  I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.  And where I go you know, and the way you know."

The magnificence of the city itself is beyond description.  Revelation 21:19-21 “The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone.  The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, the fifth sardonyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.  The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl.  The great street of the city was of pure gold, like transparent glass.”  It is difficult to imagine such a city.  1 Corinthians 2:9 “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

No unbelieving churches are there, who do not believe that God does things for those who really believe Him.  Revelation 21:22-25 “I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.  The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.  The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it.  On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there.”

Knowing the spiritual requirements to enter that marvelous city is vitally important.  Jesus said John 6:29 "This is above all the thing that God requires—that you should be believers in Him whom He has sent."  And He added John 14:15 "If you love me, you will obey what I command.”  We must love Him, for He loved us first.  Romans 5:8 “God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.”

Loving God and following Jesus includes real life issues encompassing every facet of life—most certainly divine healing and money issues—two things the average church will not teach, and will not follow.  They will trust in any and every prescription, pill, or procedure imaginable, but not the Blood of Jesus, even though Scripture clearly states; 1 Peter 2:24 “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.”

Jesus clearly explained the importance of money issues and trusting God every day without laid up resources.  The rich man in Hell shows how necessary it is to listen to, learn from, and follow the words of Christ on this matter.  The young ruler wanted to see that marvelous new city, so Jesus told him how to be sure—He said Luke 18:22, "You still lack one thing.  Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven.  Then come, follow me."

The young man was like most professing Christians today—he was not willing to do that.  The average church member will put their treasure in the bank, store their money in a vault, or hide it under a mattress, but they will not trust God in faith by giving it to the poor—even though Jesus said John 14:4 "Where I go you know, and the way you know."  It is by faiththat is the Father’s will.
