The Truth (Defined)

#1540 0622 11W

God’s Truth is a plan of life that is explained in His Word.  His Truth is, however, quite different than what most professing Christians think it is.  The Garden of Eden is a clear definition of God’s Truth and plan.  The life of these first humans is a living example of God’s will for us, and it refutes all human arguments to the contrary.

Millions of churches and religious organizations have their own theory on what is God’s will, but most of them reject Bible examples as possible for the believer today—which robs them of everything God wants to give them—materially, spiritually, physically, and in everything else.

If this teaching that God has enlightened us to know, believe, value, and live is the Truth, then the teaching of most churches today is a serious error—which would end in even more serious results, if no repentance is forthcoming.  God’s Truth—that He has enlightened us to know—is the only path to His kingdom, because it is the only way of faith.  Most professing Christians today have 2 Timothy 3:5 “a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof; from such turn away.”

Three things prove whether the teaching is the Truth of God or not.  The first is the plain instructions given in the Bible; the second are personal examples that show how the principle is applied; and third are the results received by following God’s instruction.  Like a math class—a rule is given; then an example of how it is applied, and finally the answer or results.  When we apply the rule and get the correct answer from God, we are sure that we are doing it correctly.

If we, as a true believer in Christ, apply this Truth-teaching of the Word as Bible Christians did, and the same results are received as they received, no false teacher, or even the devil, could convince us that this is not God’s Truth.  We are to know that God’s Word is true, as much as we know Jesus is alive.

The Garden of Eden is a clear definition of God’s will for us.  It tells how God created us, why He created us, and the way He wants us to live.  Genesis 1:26 “God said, ‘Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness.’”  Ev-erything was supplied that was needed for life.  There was no arguing, no complaining, and no strife or friction between the first two people.

They were kind and loving toward each other, and they did everything to please one another.  There was nothing to be concerned about, as everything needed for a pleasant life was provided for them to use and enjoy for free.  They had perfect health, and would have lived forever—had they continued to follow God’s original plan.

In addition to all the above, they enjoyed the presence of God Himself.  They had a close relationship with God, and they could talk personally with Him about anything—that is what made Eden heaven on earth.  It was then, and still is today, God’s will that we enjoy those same conditions and that same environment.  His will is that we not worry about anything, but to trust Him in faith for everything.  That is why we were created, and that is what His plan has always been.

Enjoying this blessing of a paradise environment resulted from their perfect faith, and their loyal trust on God.  They had no one else; no alternative plan; and no other power to depend on, but God Himself.  His power, plan, and will for us today, has not changed.  Jesus’ death on the cross, and His resurrection to life, is what enables us to get back to that position of trust on God for everything.

If we can understand how this paradise environment was lost, and why conditions in the world are so dreadful today, we will know how to return and enjoy those pleasant conditions of Eden.  There is a reason why people in the world experience sorrow, sickness, and troubles of every description.  The reason and the remedy are explained in the first four chapters of the first Bible Book.  This divine plan is current teaching, because it is God’s Truth on how to enjoy the environment of Eden in our own personal life of trust on God.

Now we understand why Abraham told the rich man in Hell—who had asked for someone to warn his five brothers—that Luke 16:29 “Moses and the prophets have warned them.  Your brothers can read their writings anytime they want to.”  The first five books of the Bible were written by Moses, and contain many principles of trust God wanted His people to apply.

And we know why Jesus said Luke 8:21 “My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.”  It is all about living God’s Truth—that is clearly written in God’s Word Matthew 7:24 "Every one who hears these my teachings and acts upon them will be found to resemble a wise man who builds his house upon rock.”

The greatest privilege a creator could give a created being—is the freedom to choose how they will live and conduct their life, because that power of choice changes us from the mind of an animal, to the mind of a human—with the ability to reason and chart and choose our own destiny—we decide what our future will be.  This is a huge responsibility on every human being.

Everything that pertains to our life here, and everything concerning where we will spend eternity, is on our shoulders, because we can choose to believe and be saved; or refuse to believe and be lost.  Everyone who goes to the lake of fire, and everyone who receives eternal life, can know without any doubt, that that is how they used their power of choice—they personally selected their own eternal destiny.

There were two types of trees in Eden, so God told Adam Genesis 2:16-17 “You may freely eat any fruit in the garden except fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.  If you eat of its fruit, you will surely die.”  God put a difference between this tree, and the other trees, for one specific purpose—that man would have a choice.

If all the trees were the same, there would be no choice; and no reason to give any commands—just live any way you wish.  But all through Scripture, people have had the responsibility to choose, and they had to make a choice.  Satan appears to Eve, and presents her with a choice.

The Bible does not record how the serpent talked to her, and it could have been by suggesting to her mind—as Satan often does today.  By using this method, the devil can make his way seem reasonable—suggesting: that would just be the sensible thing to do, etc.  Adam’s fall into sin is a tragic story that is repeated again and again and again—because we always have to choose between the Word of the Lord, and the lie of the devil.

God cannot help us, and the devil cannot harm us, until we accept what they say, believe what they tell us, and then act on that word.  Anything Satan has ever done to us, was done by first getting our consent.  Anything God has ever done for us, was done because we made the choice to listen to His Word, believe what He said, and then act in faith.  Neither God nor man can do anything for anyone, until they choose to listen and accept what they propose.

Satan did in Eden, what he tries to do today.  He succeeded in getting Adam and Eve away from the Word of God, and convinced them to accept his advice to go their own way without God.  This was, and still is, the foundation of all sins, and the beginning of all the troubles ever experienced by people in the world.

Eve knew what God had warned her about, because she Genesis 3:2-3 “said to the serpent, ‘We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’"  God said they could eat from every tree in the Garden—except one—that is the choice.  Satan deceives Eve by lying about the results if she chooses his plan.  Two different words, and one monumental choice—for Eve.

Satan’s six thousand years experience in deceiving, warns us of the need for the power of the Holy Spirit to help us resist the devil when he suggests things to our mind.  Satan’s object is to get us away from the Word of God, to trust in our own plans, and to follow our own way in the world.  It is not getting what we want that is wrong—it is how we get it.  If we get anything outside the will and Word of God, we commit the sin Adam committed.  We must repent and get back to trusting God in faith.

Satan says Genesis 3:4-5 “Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.”  The devil is saying to her, what he is saying to us—if we will disobey the Word of God and follow the ways of the world, we will find peace, happiness, and contentment—but that is a lie.  He says we will be our own god, chart our own course, and have everything we want—but obtained outside the will of God.  It would be a costly mistake with deadly and eternal consequences.

When they accepted Satan’s lie, they accepted his nature.  They now had a rebellious and unbelieving heart, rather than a submissive and believing one.  The result of listening to Satan was losing all knowledge of God.  Their thinking and reasoning were now controlled by the devil.  Anyone who is not surrendered to the will of God, is following the will of the
devil—often without realizing it.  That is why the world thinks a believer is out of their mind to trust in faith on the living God.

From that day to this moment, man has been trying, and relying, on his own ability and power to obtain what he wants in life.  Anything we obtain outside the will of God, is committing the sin Adam committed—going our own way, and rejecting the way of Truth God has given in His Word.

Isaiah 53:1, 6  ”Who has believed our report?  And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?  All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way.”  We must reverse that wrong choice of going our own way, because John 17:3 “this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”
