Everyone Is Equal Everyone of every nation, tribe, people and language is equal in the sight of God, so all true believers are unified members of the body of Christ." That is verified by 2 Peter 3:9, "He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." God is patient and loving so He tarries. Anyone who will, may come and take of the water of life before it is too late. Revelation 22:17 says it is a "free gift of the water of life." Even though 5/6 of the world’s population has by their own choice declared that Christ is not part of their religion, God still loves everyone of every nation, so He waits, because everyone is equal and everyone will be given that opportunity to accept Christ as their Savior before the end comes. In Matthew 24 Jesus gave many signs to watch for…military conflicts, food shortages, earthquakes, persecution, being hated for our faith, betrayal and hatred among people, turning away from God, deception, heinous crimes, evil increasing and love for God decreasing. In verse 13 Jesus said those "who stand firm to the end will be saved," and following with (14), "This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." The only escape out of this wicked world of sin is through Christ. Everyone of every nation has a choice to accept Him and be saved for an eternity, or reject Him and be lost forever. God has called us to be His representatives and to be a light for His truth. "Many are called, but few chosen," (Matthew 20:16). The opportunity God gives everyone, is the opportunity to be part of the body of Christ. (Ephesians 4:4-6), "There is one body and one Spirit-- just as you were called to one hope when you were called--one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all." If there is only ‘One God, One Faith, and One Way’ why are there so many religions that do not agree? The Apostle asked (1 Corinthians 1:13), "Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you?" The answer is the many interpretations of the Scriptures given today. Not all interpretations are correct. Any correct interpretation includes God’s infallible Word on the atonement of Christ as the basis for faith. Followers of Christ (Luke 8:21) "Hear God's word and put it into practice." There is only one God and one faith, but many false doctrines and bogus faith. Eternal security (or once saved always saved) teachers give a counterfeit version of grace. They say that sin will not keep a person out of heaven, but Jesus said it will! (Revelation 21:8), "The cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars--their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur." Satan can be in a disguise that is designed to deceive, defeat, and destroy! Satan’s value system is opposite to God’s. He will oppose anything that exalts Christ. He is not in the Lake of Fire but on earth prowling and seeking someone to destroy (1 Peter 5:8-9). We are to "Resist him, standing firm in the faith..." God does not resist him for us, but we are to resist him (with the help of God’s Spirit). That is the choice everyone has: to resist him or give in to him. The devil can quote Scripture so he is dangerous. We have to be constantly on guard ‘against the leaven of false teaching.’ OSAS proponents quote Ephesians 2:8, "For it is by grace you have been saved," but they may not mention ‘through faith’ (and meaning a continuing faith that endures to the end). They will say that we are justified by faith (quoting Romans 5:1), but may not say that faith can cease to exist. (Romans 11:20) "They were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith." Everyone is equal in the sight of God and every one is given the opportunity to accept Christ as Savior (but not many do). There is one God (1 Kings 8:60) "The LORD is God and that there is no other," one faith (Romans 3:22), and one way to God (John 14:6). Romans 6 tells us that we are not under law but Romans 8 says, "If you live according to the sinful nature, you will die [spiritually]." To say that future sins are forgiven before they are committed and before there has been any repentance is to give a false doctrine. The Apostle Paul says (Ephesians 5:1-2), "Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." (3-5), "But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people. Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person--such a man is an idolater--has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God." Foolish talk, immoral jokes, and profanity are common in the workplace today, but we are to stand up for what is right, to represent Christ, and to make a difference! If there is only one God (who told us to have no idols), only one faith (which endures through all trials), and only one way (through Christ), then we had better judge ourselves and be open for conviction. God is always faithful and always loves us. (1 John 1:9), "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." We, however, must be faithful to God (Revelation 2:10), "Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life." Salvation is for everyone of every nation, language and people but very few understand the value of it and fewer still endure in the faith to the end to receive it. Many are called, but few stay in the race. God always loves us (Romans 5:8), " God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Even the young ruler who rejected the advice of Jesus on finances (Mark 10:21) was loved by the Master…"Jesus looked at him and loved him." Nothing can separate us from the love of God (Romans 8:35), but our choices can separate us from the life of Christ. God’s love for us never changes, it is our love for Him that changes. (James 2:5), "Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?" We must give our life to God because He has purchased it by the sacrifice of His Son. God’s love for us is beyond any love on earth and everyone has an equal opportunity to return that love. Unfortunately, not many do. that is, because we can only imagine, "What God has prepared for those who love him," (1 Corinthians 2:9). *** |
